How to: Preparing Face Masks at Home

Preparing your own face masks at home is very simple and it is fun too! The nice part is, that you know that only natural ingredients are in your face mask and your skin will thank you for it. Of course, the variety of masks is large. I have tried many, there is the standard cucumber mask to the weird and unusal chinese variations. Here you will find a few of my favorites to DIY, have fun!

Peach and Apricot Face Mask
This one will make your skin look younger and smoother with the antioxidants found in the fruits.
Ingredients:
1 ripe peach
1 ripe apricot
1 TBS honey
1 TBS yoghurt (quark is good too)

Preparation:
Wash, peel and remove the pits of the fruits. Cut into small pieces and pulse in the food processor or mask with a fork until you have a fine consistency. Mix in the honey and yoghurt.

Beauty Treatment
Wash your face with your normal facial cleanser. Apply the peach and apricot facial mask with a clean soft brush. After approximately 20 minutes wash off the remains of the goop with lukewarm water. Then wash your face with your facial toner and don't forget to apply your day or night cream.

Chocolate Mask
This one is one of my all-time favorites, it is really easy to make, your skin feels softer and more relaxed. The smell of chocolate makes you feel good as it increases your bodies production of endorphines. And the best part is that it tastes wonderful too! Go ahead and make a bit extra for you or try it with your partner and make something different out of your weekly pampering routine......

In a double boiler or in the microwave melt some chocolate almond bark, chocolate chips or even your favorite pure chocolate candy bar (don't use one with peanuts or caramel). Make sure it is not too hot and apply to your skin with a clean soft brush. After 10 - 15 minutes wash the remains off with warm water. Use your facial toner and day or night cream if needed.
